The tires on your vehicle are just like any other part that helps your vehicle run in that they need routine maintenance. But unlike other parts, this maintenance requires the actual movement of your tires. This movement is called rotating your tires and it should be done within a certain time or mileage frame just like when you need to change your oil. Rotating your tires helps a great deal in keeping your entire vehicle stable and driving well.
The general rule of thumb here is that tires should be rotated every 6,000 to 8,000 miles. These numbers are going to vary slightly depending on the quality of the tires you own and the conditions under which you drive. Experienced drivers can typically tell when their vehicle does not “own the road” as well as it did right after their last rotation, so they go by that as well as the mileage/time rule as to when they should rotate next.
