The sheer number of Honda CR-Vs seen in parking lots, and family driveways across the country pretty much says all that you need to know about the competent, efficient, and reliable compact crossover. For 2017, however, Honda has rebuilt its compact CUV offering from the ground up with a refreshed design, new platform, and added sophistication.

While the basic looks of the CR-V hasn’t changed too much, Honda has refined the lines to make it more of a stand out. The front fascia is particularly handsome, with LED-accented headlamps, available LED headlamps, and a hands-free power tailgate. The CUV is motivated by Honda’s new 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with 190 horsepower, which the brand claims will net some pretty impressive gas mileage figures.

The CR-V shares its most basic mechanical components with the Civic, and the fifth-generation model is no different. Like the tenth-gen Civic, the CR-V utilizes ACE body structure, which is sure to help the CUV’s safety ratings in the best way. It will also come with features such as Honda Sensing, a full-color instrument cluster, and Honda Link infotainment with phone connectivity.
